WATTA CUP REGULATIONS AS AT 20/01/2010
- All fixtures will be between teams of three players playing three singles fixtures each and one doubles. In the event of a tie on points, a further doubles, consisting of four games, will be played between differently constituted doubles pairs. In this case the team handicap shall be adjusted to take into account the additional doubles match.
- If teams are still tied after the additional doubles match the entire fixture shall be replayed at a time at a time agreed upon by the teams involved and confirmed with the Match Committee.
- All rubbers will be on a basis of four (advantage) games regardless of the results. At the completion of the fixture the three players individual handicaps will be added to the total points won for each team.
- Fixtures will be determined by the teams with the greatest number of points scored after handicaps have been applied (see clause 15), winning and advancing to the next round. The losing team shall be eliminated from the competition.
- Players will be handicapped according to the current WATTA Cup handicap rating system as displayed in the centre foyer.
- Teams of any composition of players may be nominated, but only three players may represent a team in any given fixture.
- Substitutes may be brought in from any Pennant team from the same club, but not from any other WATTA Cup team.
- No player may represent more than one team in any calendar year.
- Clubs forfeiting after round 1 shall be liable for a $24.00 forfeiting fine.
- All players must be registered with WATTA according to the Pennant Match Regulations.
- Club/Teams shall not re-arrange fixtures solely by mutual agreement. Before rearrangement is made, the Match Committee must approve any alteration to the fixture.
- Should an interruption to a fixture occur, (eg power cut) the fixture will be resumed at the point at which it was abandoned, at the earliest possible time.
- Medallions will be awarded to both teams participating in the Final. The winning team shall hold the WATTA Cup until 31str March in the following year.
- The maximum handicap differential between two teams shall be 320 points.
